About Me
Hi I am Raquel Pacheco. I’m thrilled to be joining the Philip Rock Center this year as a Special Education Transition Teacher. While this is my first year at the center, it marks my fourth year teaching transition, a role I’ve found deeply fulfilling. I earned my Master’s degree in Special Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2022, and since then, I’ve been dedicated to helping students successfully prepare for life beyond the classroom.
My passion lies in equipping students with the practical skills they need to navigate their communities with confidence and independence. I believe that every student has unique strengths, and one of the most rewarding parts of my work is helping them discover those strengths, set meaningful goals, and take ownership of their futures. I strive to create a supportive, engaging, and empowering environment where students can grow into active, contributing members of society.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time in my backyard with a good book or gathering with my family. Reading is my favorite way to unwind and recharge. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
