The Philip J. Rock Center utilizes professionals who care about serving deaf-blind individuals. Job opportunities may include office assistants, teachers, educational paraprofessionals, administrators, and other positions.

PART-TIME Bilingual Family Engagement Specialist (click on link to see full job description)


• Bachelor's degree, preferred

• Experience as a family member of an individual with disabilities, preferably deafblindness

• Fluent and proficient in spoken and written English and Spanish, sign language skills a plus


· Provide mentoring and advocacy to families

· Assist families in navigating the educational system

· Coordinate and host training events

· Complete needs assessment and distance activities by phone and email with families

· Act as liaison and between families and other project and school staff

· Document contact with Project Reach families

· Some translation and interpretation


· Some travel in Illinois, rare but occasional travel outside of Illinois

· Flexible hours to accommodate evening and weekend events
